Jeff Medrano joined UnitedRx in 2020 as the Director of Operations, where he will be responsible for the day-to-day workflow and all adjudication/prior authorization and IT departments. Jeff’s most recent Legacy Healthcare position provided him a unique perspective to precisely understand how the facility interacts with the pharmacy. And therefore he can create the best experience for our customers.
In 2008 Jeff started his pharmacy career at Pharmore Long Term Care Pharmacy. Jeff started as a pharmacy fill tech and realized he found his niche; he began to learn all aspects of the pharmacy. Moving from fill tech to cycle tech to data entry to new business integration to business intelligence, each move allowed Jeff to understand operations and use technology to create efficiencies. In his last role at Pharmore, Jeff was in charge of operations, including training, reporting, and workflow.
When Jeff is not working, he can be found with his nose in a book or working his Harry Potter magic at Universal Studios.
Kisha Langarica joined UnitedRx’s Las Vegas Pharmacy in 2014 as the Billing Supervisor, which includes the adjudication, prior authorization, billing, and collections departments. In 2020 Kisha’s managerial responsibilities grew to encompass all of UnitedRx’s pharmacies. While Kisha started her pharmacy career in 1999 in retail, she has been working in Long Term Care pharmacies since 2005, beginning as a billing specialist with Spectrum Pharmacy. While Kisha has worked in all pharmacy departments, she has concentrated on the billing and insurance aspect. She works tirelessly to ensure that each patient and their medications are taken care of at the least cost to patients or facilities.
Kisha’s self-described need for organization not only leads to a closet organized by type and color, but it also extends to her hobbies as well. Kisha’s love of all things Marvel (and some DC) led her down a collecting path that rivals the characters on The Big Bang Theory. Finding interest in Funko Pop, Kisha has already amassed a collection of over 200 figures.
Heather Howe joined UnitedRx from Wellfount Pharmacy with a vast amount of experience. As our Data Entry Supervisor, she is focusing on reshaping the department to create a better customer experience. In 2008 Heather started her pharmacy career at Wellfount LTC Pharmacy as a data entry technician; she was quickly promoted to Supervisor, and at the same time, began to manage the medical records department. Collaborating with all departments, Heather created the internal customer service department. In 2010 she led the process team to transition Wellfount to a 24/7 pharmacy; this involved hiring more staff and training on all new policies and procedures. A few years later, Heather transitioned to manage the Quality Assurance department and, as part of that, developed a new customer transition team in addition to rolling the data entry, medical records, and customer service team under her.
Heather lives on five acres outside the city, and with her husband and three daughters, she is working on recreating the farm life that she grew up with. She is raising chickens, vegetables, and other assorted animals. As her children attest, there is nothing like fresh eggs for breakfast.
Doug Scharf earned his pharmacist degree from St. Louis College of Pharmacy. His pharmacy career started on the traditional retail path at K-Mart. After ten years, Doug Scharf decided to expand his skill set and moved to Hormones Compounding Pharmacy, where he created lifesaving medications.
